Euphilotes blues are frequently not identifiable from pictures, even with exact locality and date information. Some areas may have simply one or two taxa from this genus, with field identification relatively tractable, but others (like Kern County) are far more interesting and perplexing.

These were seen along the road from the pass up towards the microwave towers to the south, mostly associating with a large yellow buckwheat (umbellatum? nudum?)
